For the past four transfer windows, Manchester United number one, David de Gea has consistently been linked with a move to Real Madrid but for Ander Herrera, it will not happen as he has pledge to help block any such move.

The Spanish goalkeeper was voted the Red Devils Player of the Season three consecutive times until Herrera beat him to the crown last season following an outstanding campaign which saw him help the club win the EFL Cup and Europa League titles.

De Gea, 26, is rated as one of the best goalkeepers in the world and Jose Mourinho has made it clear that he doesn’t want to lose the former Atletico Madrid man especially after the Los Blancos blocked Alvaro Morata from joining him at Old Trafford.

But should Madrid put up a very tempting offer for de Gea, his compatriot, Herrera has vowed to help persuade his teammate to ignore it.

"He's happy,” Herrera said on De Gea. “I know this is going to sound repetitive because I always say the same by David is one of the few keepers who wins you points.

“I’m going to do everything I can to make sure he stays.”

Herrera and de Gea starred for Manchester United as they defeated LA Galaxy 5-2 in their first preseason friendly in the United States.
