N’Golo Kante injured again in training as Chelsea midfielder set to miss Europa League final against Arsenal on Wednesday night due to a knee injury.
The 28-year-old France international missed the closing games of the Premier League campaign with a calf problem, but the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner had returned to training ahead of the showdown with the Gunners in Baku.
According to Goal claims that Kante had stepped up training over the past 12 days and was on course to line up on the right-hand side of Chelsea’s three-man midfield as usual but former Leicester City man suffered a knock to his knee and the severity of the injury is not yet known, with further tests required, though early signs indicate he may be unable to play against Arsenal.
The news would be a major blow for Blues coach Maurizio Sarri, who is already without Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Antonio Rudiger but Mateo Kovacic or Ross Barkley could coming for French midfielder on Wednesday.
Chelsea players will depart London for Azerbaijan on Monday.
