Mane & Koulibaly in Senegal 25-man squad for 2019 AFCON

Sadio Mane and Kalidou Koulibaly named in the 25-man preliminary squad for next month’s Africa Cup of Nations.

The Trenga Loin coach Aliou Cisse has retained 16 of the players he took the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia last year in his initial squad for the upcoming tournament in Egypt.

The selection as several big names including Liverpool’s Mane, Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, Cheikhou Kouyate of Crystal Palace, Everton midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye, Inter Milan forward Keita Balde also made it into the list.

The biggest absentee in the provisional line-up is Ligue 1 club Anger midfielder Cheikh Ndoye who is out due ligament damage, Anderlecht center-back Kara Mbodji, former West Ham forward Diafra Sakho, Mame Biram Diouf and Adama Mbengue also missed out.

Senegal are in Group C and will start the tournament against Tanzania on June 23, before games against Algeria and Kenya on June 27 and July 1 respectively.
