Austin Jay Okocha's former club Fenerbache want Super Eagles skipper John Obi Mikel in the January transfer window just few days after he cancelled his contract with Tianjin Teda.

The 31-year-old Nigeria international agreed to end his association with the Chinese Super League outfit on Thurdays ending his two years spell with the club.

Mikel refused to travel with Tiajin Teda for thier pre-season traning tour to Spain and annouced his depature later after make 31 appearances for ther relegated club, providing three goals and the same number of assists.

According to L'equipe claiming that Fenerbache has shown strong intreset in former Chelsea star with Turkish gaint looking to bolster thier midfield during this winter transfer window.

Mikel hopes to regain full fitness in the remaning season ahead of 2019 Afcon in the summer as he has not featured for Super Eagles since thier last group game against Argentina at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

The 2013 Afcon winner has been capped 85 times by Nigeria and with six goals to his name.
