A lone goal by Paston Daka in the FIFA 2018 World Cup qualifiers in Group B between Algeria and Zambia ensured that the South Africans kept hopes alive of featuring Russia next year.
Both sides played a barren first half at the Stade Mustapha Tchaker in Algeria as the north Africans dominated proceedings. Unfortunately, that dominance could not be translated to goals with Mahrez missing a penalty in the 16th minute.Second half resumed with the same dominance but Zambia broke the deadlock in the 66th minute through Daka and it all went downhill from there for Algeria who tried for a goal through Islam Slimani and Mahrez but all fell short.Zambia now put pressure on the Super Eagles as they sit three point behind the group leaders who they would be in meeting in next game.
