2019: Super Eagles youngster among 50 future stars to watch

Super Eagles youngster Samuel Chukwueze has been listed among the top 50 future stars to watch in 2019, according to Union of European Football Association.

The 19-year-old teenager has been impressive for Villarreal this season putting up big performances and in the La Liga and Copa Del Rey as well as the UEFA Europa League.

According to, Chukwueze is the only Nigerian who made the cut alongside, Chelsea’s teenage sensation, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Vinicius Junior of Real Madrid and Brazil, Manchester United and Los Blancos target Eder Militao, Lagos born and Holland forward Arnaut Groeneveld and, African Youth Player of the Year Achraf Hakimi of Morocco.

Chukwueze old broke into Villarreal’s first team this season and has been likened to the legendary Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben see him notched four goals from 13 outings in all competitions this campaign for the Yellow Submarine.

A FIFA under-17 World Cup winner with Nigeria in 2015, Chukwueze came close to joining Arsenal in 2016 – arrived at Villarreal from Nigeria’s Diamond Academy in August 2017.
