5 Nigerian players with most appearances in FIFA tournaments

Joseph Yobo (37 appearances)

Yobo first came into national limelight in 1999, when he featured for Nigeria at that year’s FIFA U20 World Cup (then known as the World Youth Championship). He was a striker at the time, and made five appearances for that team, before they were eliminated in the quarterfinals by a Seydou Keita inspired Mali in Enugu. He made 10 appearances across three FIFA World Cups and 22 in World Cup qualifiers.
