Ahmed Musa donates N4m to U-23 Eagles after Libya win

Super Eagles & Al Nassr forward Ahmed Musa has fulfilled his promise after donating on N4 million on the Nigeria U23 side after beating Libya 4-0 on Monday evening at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.

Ex-Golden Eaglets star Victor Osimhen who has been a scintillating form in the Belgium Jupiler outfit Charleroi where he has ten goals from 22 appearances before netted a hat-trick and provided an assist to substitute Samuel Okereke to help the Dream Team VII cancel a two-goal deficit from the first leg in Tunis last week. 

Musa promised the team N1m for every goal scored, as a morale booster when he accompanied Super Eagles boss Gernot Rohr to the team’s training on Saturday, March 23 but former national team Media Officer Colin Udoh has confirmed that Kelechi Iheanaco and Wilfred Ndidi former Leicester City teammate has sent the money.

The Dream Team VII suffered 2-0 defeat in the reverse fixture five days ago, but this victory means the Olympic Eagles are through to the next stage of the qualifier on 4-2 aggregate. 

The 26-year-old splashed a total of N4 million on the team for securing qualification for the final round of the U23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in June, Super Eagles’ media officer, Toyin Ibitoye, said.

Nigeria had lost the reverse fixture 2-0 but qualified on 4-2 aggregate thanks to a hattrick from Osimhen and a goal from David Okereke.
