Aigbogun names strong final squad for FIFA U-20 World Cup

Nigerian coach Paul Aigbogun has named strong final 21-man squad for this year’s FIFA U20 World Cup finals in Poland.

Former Enyimba manager kept faith with some of the players that took the fourth position at the Africa U20 Cup of Nations in the Niger Republic in February with captain Ikouwem Utin, goalkeeper Olawale Oremade, Effiom Maxwell Igho Ogbu nd Galatarasy target Valentine Ozornwafor all made the team.

The new players' included are highly rated Perugia of Italy midfielder Kingsley Michael, Manchester City starlet Tom Dele-Bashiru, Bournemouth’s Nnamdi Ofobor and IK Sirius Uppsala forward Henry Offia 

Aigbogun spoke to the players over dinner at their Bad Goegging, Germany training camp on Monday where he unveiled the list than 24 hours before the team tackles Austrian club, Red Bull Salzburg in the Austrian city of Salzburg on Tuesday evening.

Flying Eagles will play their final pre-World Cup friendly with Red Bull Leipzig in Germany on Friday before flying out of Germany for the host nation.

Nigeria hopes to put a better performance from the last tournament they feature four years ago in New Zealand when coach Manu Garba side was eliminated in the Round of 16 by Germany in Christchurch but the west African side will begin their campaign against Qatar in Tychy on 24th May before tackling the United States of America and Ukraine the group.
