Another NPFL star quit Akwa United for foreign club

Another NPFL star Ifeanyi Ifeanyi quit Akwa United for a foreign club Entente Sportive Sètifienne in Algeria.

The 23-year-old featured for the CHAN Eagles at the 2018 African Nations Cup where they finished second behind the eventual winner Morocco signed a three-year deal with North African team.

Ifeanyi who spent five years with the 2017 Aiteo Cup Champions, Akwa United opted against a contract renewal before securing a move to Es Setif as he was unveiled on Tuesday by the eight-time Algerian Ligue 1 champions.

The former MFM midfielder could be in the stands for his new team when they play A Bou Saada in the Algerian Cup Round of 32 clashes later today and Ifeanyi has now joins Junior Lokosa in North Africa after he completed an earlier move to Tunisia with both players featured for the Super Eagles under Coach Gernot Rohr in 2018.

Setif is currently 4th on the Algerian league table with 24 points from 16 games, nine points behind leaders USM Alger who have also played the same number of matches.
