Arsenal have blast Laurent Koscielny after club captain refuses to travel with the team for pre-season tour to the United State of America.

The 33-year-old French defender has 12 months left on his current deal but was said to be considering his future after Arsenal missed out on Champions League qualification after blowing their top-four chances and losing the Europa League final against Chelsea.

Arsenal makes a statement via the club official website on Thursday 11th but refused to give further comments on the situation.

"We are very disappointed by Laurent’s actions, which are against our clear instructions.

"We hope to resolve this matter and will not be providing any further comment at this time," a statement from the club read.

Koscielny moves to Emirate Stadium in the summer of 2010 where has made 353 appearances for the club and overcame a career-threatening Achilles injury suffered in May 2018 to play a prominent role during the second half of last season.

Arsenal begins their US tour against Colorado on Tuesday before playing Bayern Munich in Carson in California next Thursday, Fiorentina and Real Madrid.
