Arsenal boss Wenger drops big Oxlade-Chamberlain hint

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has disclosed that Liverpool target Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will not be leaving the club this summer despite claims in the media that he is to be used as bait in a transfer swoop for Manchester United's target Nemanja Matic.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has only a year left on his contract and it has been suggested that he would favour a move away rather than signing a new deal, due to his desire for more playing time.

When quizzed on the player's future after a pre-season win over Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday, Wenger said he was 100 per cent certain the England international willremain at the Emirates stadium beyond this summer.

"Yes, 100 per cent I expect him to stay. There is no speculation - no matter what happens he will stay." said Wenger on Arsenal's official website.

Liverpool are among the clubs who have been linked with the 23-year-old but Wenger is confident that the attacking midfielder will be staying with the Gunners.
