Unai Emery is set to land a new No. 1 for Arsenal as they close in on Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper, Bernd Leno, according to reports in Germany.
Emery wants to replace Petr Cech and has identified the German star as his main target.
And it appears he is close to getting his man, with Sport Bild reporting that an official announcement is expected soon.
The German publication report that Leverkusen are willing to let their man leave for between £18m and £22m pounds.
Leno had been regarded as one of the brightest goalkeeping talents in Europe when he was younger but his development seems to have stalled in recent years in Germany.
Leno, who missed out on Germany's World Cup squad, is looking to get his career back on track with a move and the Premier League will certainly test him.
New Arsenal manager Emery is aiming to improve the spine of his team ahead of the new season, with a goalkeeper, centre back and central midfielder his priority.
The signing of Borussia Dortmund's Sokratis Papastathopoulos is expected to be confirmed next month, while Lucas Torreira appears to be closing in on a move to Arsenal.
Meanwhile, Emery will find out Arsenal's 2018-19 Premier League fixtures at 9am on Thursday.
