Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey has revealed the extent of the gruesome calf injury he suffered during Gunners' 2-2 draw with CSKA Moscow in the Europa League on Thursday.

Wale international was forced off on a stretcher in the first half of the match but still managed to complete the encounter at the VEB Arena in the Russian town.

Ramsey suffered a deep gash to his calf which required Arsenal’s medical team to staple the wound together as a temporary solution. After the game, the 27-year-old midfielder showed Arsenal fans the severity of the injury in his post on Instagram.

CSKA were on the brink of completing a remarkable comeback after strikes from Fyodor Chalov and Kirill Nababkin had Moscow within a goal of advancing, having lost 4-1 in the first leg at the Emirates.

But Danny Welbeck and Ramsey ensured Arsene Wenger's side kept their hopes of Champions League qualification alive by booking Arsenal's spot in the last four.

Arsenal will learn their semi-final opponents on Friday as they prepare to be drawn against one of Atletico Madrid, Marseille and Red Bull Salzburg.
