Arsenal trio return for Europa League game

Arsenal trio of Olivier Giroud, Danny Welbeck, and Jack Wilshere have all returned to full training in the lead-up to the side’s Europa League tie against Cologne.

Giroud missed the Gunners’ 2-0 victory over Tottenham at the weekend after picking up a thigh strain on international duty for France, while Welbeck and Wilshere were unused substitutes at the Emirates.

Welbeck has been out of action since the side’s 2-1 defeat at Watford last month and the forward will be desperate to get minutes under the belt on Thursday evening.

Wilshere and the England attacker were not involved in training on Tuesday but joined up with their team-mates once again on Wednesday morning.

The north London giants are unbeaten in Europe so far this term but will be desperate to return to winning ways following a goalless draw at home to Red Star Belgrade.

Reiss Nelson, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Eddie Nketiah and Joe Willock could all feature against Cologne after being included in Arsene Wenger’s squad for the trip to Germany.
