Marco Asensio revealed that he is unhappy with Real Madrid because he wasn’t offered Cristiano Ronaldo’s No 7 jersey this summer.

The 33-year-old Portugal international moves to Serie A Champions Juventus in July after nine stays in Santiago Bernabeu.

Los Blancos bring back Mariano Diaz to the Spanish capital for the second time from Lyon last month and the Dominican Republic international was handed the club iconic number seven jersey, which has also been worn by Raul.

Asensio who still has five years remaining on his contract with the Champions League holder and the Spaniard who is seen as the future for Real Madrid and La Roja, has hinted that he is unhappy with the decision.

The 22-year-old scored one and assisted three goals in Spain’s 6-0 UEFA Nations League win over Croatia on Tuesday night.

Asension, who wears the No 20 jersey at present said.  "I wouldn’t want to finish my career with the number 20 shirt, I say everything with that,”

"If I wanted to change it? Yes, we will see what happens.

"With Cristiano or without him I have the same aim of having a first-team place and being important.

"So far so good, I have started the season well and I am working well.”

Asensio has notched  21 goals in 95 appearances for the Spanish giant including a notable strike in the 4-1 win over Juventus in 2017 Champions League.
