Aubameyang reveals why he celebrated in Black Panther style

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang revealed why he celebrated in Black Panther style during the Arsenal 3-0 win over Rennes in the Europa League on Thursday night at Emirate Stadium.

The 29-year-old Gabon international bagged two goals as the Gunners scale through to the quarter-final stage of the tournament with 4-3 aggregate triumph.

Following his second goal, Aubameyang pulled out and put on a mask of Marvel superhero Black Panther, which he has since stated was a dedication to his homeland.


Former Bundesliga striker told BT Sport. "I needed a mask which represents me.

"It's the Black Panther and in Africa, in Gabon, we call the national team the Black Panthers of Gabon... It represents me."

Aubameyang has now scored 22 goals and assisted a further six strikes in 39 matches for the Gunners this season.
