Barcelona is considering signing an experienced centre-half in the January transfer period and the club’s chief Pep Segura is looking at Chelsea for reinforcement.

Thomas Vermaelen’s injury has been a major concern for the Camp Nou outfit and lack of cover for defensive pair Samuel Umtiti and Gerard Pique, except Clement Lenglet and that has sent Barcelona back to the market to shop for a defender.
