Barcelona legend Ronaldinho football career 'is over' - FCNaija

Barcelona and Brazilian legend Ronaldinho football career is over according to his brother and agent.

His brother Roberto Assis who is also his agent told news outlets in his country Brazil that Ronaldinho professional football "is over."

Assis said that farewell matches for the 37-year-old Ronaldinho are likely to be scheduled after the World Cup in Russia, which ends July 15.

"He has stopped, it is ended," Assis said. "Let's do something pretty big and nice (for his farewell) after the Russia World Cup, probably in August.

"We will do various events in Brazil, Europe and Asia and, of course, we are arranging something with the Brazilian team as well."

Last July, Ronaldinho said on the sidelines of a friendly in Chechnya that was he was "too old" to return to action.

His last professional match was in 2015 for Brazil's Fluminense.

His decorated career includes one Intertoto Cup with PSG in 2001,  World Cup title (2002), Copa America 1999, FIFA Confederation Cup 2005, one Champions League victory with Barcelona (2006)  two La Liga with Barcelona, two Spanish Super Cups Serie A with AC Milan in 2010, the 2005 Ballon d'Or, Copa Libertadores in 2013, Recopa Sudamericana 2014.
