Barcelona set the ball rolling with merciless Messi

Barcelona was on a revenge mission when they entertained Juventus in their Champions League preliminary stage at the Camp Nou on Tuesday, with Lionel Messi scoring twice to put the Catalonia outfit ahead in a 3-0 win over the Italian giants.

Two goals from Leo Messi and one from Ivan Rakitic gave Barcelona a  perfect start in the Champions League.

The Bianconeri Old lady of Turin eliminated Barcelona in a 3-0 score line in Italy but the reverse was the case last night when Juventus came to Nou Camp.

Since that 5-1 aggregate defeat against Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup, Barcelona has played four times. Their record now reads: four wins, 12 goals scored, none conceded.

Though Juventus were without six of the men who defeated them last season it is true, but the fact still remains it was still three goals and still Juventus.

Neymar has also left and it is still Barcelona the name still remains, Messi is still there and the forward has eight goals already this season.

Ernesto Valverde has found a way to blend the team together something entirely different under the former coach Luis Enrique.

The purchase of Nelson Samedo from Benfica during the summer has really helped the team and also Dembele the Neymar replacement is doing just fine too,  he helped in the first goal against the Italian Champions.

With the services of Andrés Iniesta, Sergio Busquets and Rakitic Barcelona was able to win the Midfield battle something they find difficult during the last clash.

It was a night of revenge for Barcelona as they tore Juventus apart with three goals in the course of 90 minutes.
