Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer will miss the rest of the season after fracturing his left foot during the Champions League quarter-final second-leg defeat to Real Madrid on Tuesday.
The 31-year old German sustained the injury during Cristiano Ronaldo's third goal in extra time as Bayern lost 6-3 on aggregate.
"I am sad that I will not be available to the team for the season finale. Now I am concentrating on getting back to full health as soon as possible." the keeper told Bayern's website.
Carlo Ancelotti's Bayern are
closing in on a fifth successive Bundesliga title. They are eight points clear at the top of the table with five games remaining.
In his place, former Stuttgart keeper Sven Ulreich is likely to deputise
for the rest of the season as the Bavarians have now switched focus to the home tie against relegation-threatened Leon Balogun and his Mainz side on Saturday.
