Real Madrid got two crucial away goals as they overcame Bayern Munich 2-1 in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night.

The Bavarians scored first in the 28th minute when Joshua Kimmich raced away down the right-hand side and smashed an effort past Keylor Navas, who should have probably done better.

On the stroke of half-time, Real were level through Marcelo. A cross from the right is missed by everyone and it falls to the Brazilian left-back to volley in from the edge of the box.

And Zinedine Zidane’s side were ahead on 56 minutes when Bayern defender Rafinha gave the ball away and Bayern broke through Lucas Vazquez, who squared it for Marco Asensio.

Bayern couldn't find a leveller, and know they must score at least twice at the Bernabeu on Tuesday to stand a chance of reaching the final for the first time since 2012-13.
