Bayern Munich crushed Freiburg 5-0 in manager Jupp Heynckes’ first game back in charge of the reigning champions.
Bayern sacked Carlo Ancelotti last month, four months after he guided them to the Bundesliga title, with Heynckes returning for his fourth spell as boss.
An own goal from Julian Schuster put Bayern in front early on, before Kingsley Coman headed in a second goal.
The hosts scored three second-half goals through Thiago Alcantara, Robert Lewandowski and Joshua Kimmich.
The result leaves Bayern second, two points behind leaders Borussia Dortmund, who entertain RB Leipzig in the late game on Saturday (17:30 BST).
German Heynckes, 72, has won the Bundesliga three times and the Champions League once during his previous three spells in charge of Bayern.
