Plateau United manager Kennedy Boboye believes their victory over Enugu Rangers on Wednesday is a morale booster for his side ahead of their continental engagement.
A 77th-minute header from former Rangers defender Chizoba Amaefule handed the maximum points to reigning NPFL champions Plateau United, leaving the Enugu based outfit empty-handed despite creating more chances.
Kennedy Boboye in a post-match reaction told FCNaija.com: "It was a tough game against a highly tactical team that came here to play for a draw but we are happy that we got our three points at the end of the day.
"The win is very important to us even as we go into the next round of our continental matches knowing that we are at the top of the league.
" said Boboye
The encounter was a re-scheduled match day 9 encounter in which the Kennedy Boboye led side raced to an early dominance of the game but a well-knitted defence
line by the visitors made the dominance count for nothing until Amaefule broke the deadlock.
