Bayern Munich has announced the sack of Carlo Ancelotti following the defeat to Paris Saint-Germin in the UEFA Champions League.
The Italian tactician has left Bayern Munich after over a year in charge according to reports in Germany.
The Bavarians experienced a mixed start of the season under Ancelotti, they lost to Hoffenheim, drew at home to Wolfsburg despite having a two lead in the Bundesliga.
Willy Sagnol who serves as Ancelotti's assistant will take over on a temporary basis, with former Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel likely to be at the head of the queue to replace the Italian full-time.
The former Real Madrid and Chelsea manager Ancelotti took charge of the Bayern in the summer of 2016 following Pep Guardiola’s move to Manchester City.
Ancelotti won three trophies for Bayern Munich, the Bundesliga and two DFL- Super Cups before he was sacked by the Bayern Munich.
