BREAKING: Man United defender handed three-match ban by UEFA

UEFA have announced that they have handed a three-match ban to Manchester United's Eric Bailly.

The Ivorian centre-back cash with Celta Vigo player in the second leg of United's Europa League semi-final in Old Trafford, Bailly was sent off for his part in a mass brawl which also saw Facundo Ronaglia dismissed by the referee.

Bailly had initially been required to serve a one-match suspension, which led to him missing the final against Ajax, but UEFA have now ruled that he must sit out a further two fixtures.

The 23-year-old will now miss the Super Cup final clash with Champion League winner Real Madrid on August 8, while he will also be absent from Red Devil first game in this season's Champions League.

Manchester United have also been warned for the late kickoff to the same fixture, which ended in a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford.

Bailly made a total of 11 starts during United's run to the final, which they won by a 2-0 scoreline over Ajax.
