Steven Gerrard's Rangers unveiled Nigerian descent Sheyi Ojo after the Scottish Premier League on a season-long loan from Liverpool.

The 22-year-old winger spent the 2018-19 season on loan at Stade de Reims where he featured 17-times scoring once as the Ligue 1 side end eighth-place finish in the log table and has also had temporary spells with Wigan Athletic, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Fulham.

Ojo has represented England at various levels, including the under-20 squad which won the World Cup in 2017, where he came off the bench in the final as the Three Lions defeated Venezuela 1-0 told Rangers official website.

"I am really excited to be here, my first impressions around the training ground and seeing all the players have been great. I feel really settled in and I am just ready to go.

"The last 18 months to two years I have not really had that consistent opportunity of football. When I heard Rangers were interested I spoke to my representatives, the gaffer Steven Gerrard, and I spoke to Liverpool as well.

"I think all the parties believed this was the right destination for me, for my career and for this season.

"I spoke to Andy Firth and Ovie Ejaria and I know a few other players who play in this league as well.

"I think with all the advice I got it was an easy decision, there were other clubs I could have gone to but I felt this was the right decision for me.

"It sounds stupid but my other loans have taught me to just be myself, I think when I have gone on loan previously I have tried to fit in with the team.

"I have taken away from my own game but with this season and with the manager here backing me I am looking forward to being myself and playing how I naturally would. I think if I do that then it will be a very good season.

"I have only been here a couple of days but even yesterday I went to the shops and people were coming up to me saying good luck for this season.

"I just feel a real part of it already so I think it is the best initial feeling I have had of all the clubs I have been at on loan. I really have a sense that it is going to be a good season.”

Ojo has made 13 top team appearances for Liverpool becomes Rangers’ fourth new recruit for next season after the club sealed free transfers for Jake Hastie, Jordan Jones and Greg Stewart.
