Paris Saint-Germain have turned their back on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after deciding to pursue other transfer targets instead, opening the door to a potential Premier League switch as Arsenal and Manchester United are said to be interested.
According to Bild, PSG have performed a U-turn on a deal that had been virtually wrapped up, alerting the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and rivals City and to his availability.
Manager Unai Emery has instead told PSG chiefs that he does not want another striker, with Edinson Cavani already the Ligue 1’s top scorer, and is eyeing a midfielder instead.
The Gabon international finished last season as the Bundesliga leading scorer, netting 31 times, and was seemingly on the verge of moving to Paris.
PSG have been linked with both Nice’s Jean Michael Seri, who excelled last season, as well as Monaco winger Kylian Mbappe – though a deal for the two players would be impossible if they also signed Aubameyang.
Paris was the France-born Gabon international’s preferred destination, though such is his willingness to leave Dortmund that he is even considering a move to China.
Tianjin Quanjian have offered him a record salary that exceeds €40 million (£34.9m) a year, or £672,000 per week.
