Business mogul fulfils $25,000 pledge to Super Eagles

Nigerian business mogul Femi Otedola fulfilled his $25,000 per goal pledge to the Super Eagles, before the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations semi-final clash against the eventual champions Algeria.

Aliko Dangote had promised to donate $50,000 while DJ Cuppy dad obliged to give $25,000 respectively for each goal scored in their semi-final game against Desert Foxes at Cairo International Stadium.

However, Super Eagles able to find back of the net only once in the clash after former Udinese, Granada and Watford's striker scored the penalty spot before Manchester City forward Riyad Mahrez nets the last-minute free-kick to send Algeria to the final.

Otedola has redeemed the pledge to the Super Eagles after Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) took to its social media to announce the reward.

Nigeria finished the tournament with a bronze medal after beating the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia 1-0 in the losers final.
