BUSTED: See who Bundesliga first female referee is dating

Bibiana Steinhaus is set to become the first-ever female referee in the Bundesliga and while that is grabbing the headlines, the identity of her 'mystery lover' is also casuing some ripples.

As reported in The Sun, Bibiana a Policewoman from Hanover is Howard Webb's girlfriend.

The 38-year lady referee has been officiating lower league games but she has now been handed the real deal with a Bundesliga game for her to handle.

Bibiana is by no means lacking in experince as she taken a good number of high profile games; including she  the women’s gold medal match between Japan and the USA at the London 2012 Olympic Games.


The told the official DFB website: “When Lutz Michael Frohlich [the head of German referees] informed me, I was quite speechless.

“’I feel disbelief, joy, happiness, relief, curiosity — it was simply a roller-coaster ride of emotions!’

“It has always been my dream to be a Bundesliga referee.

“That this dream will come true naturally fills me with joy.

“On one hand it is confirmation of my hard work, and on the other hand it is a great incentive to continue to work hard.”

Bibiana's partner, Webb, was regarded as one of the best referees in the world before retiring.

In 2010, he officiated the Champions League final between Inter Milan and Bayern Munich.

And later became the first Englishman since Jack Taylor in 1974, to referee a World Cup final.
