CAF Awards: Super Eagles lose Team of the year gong to Egypt - FCNaija

The Pharaohs of Egypt have been voted the national Team of the year, beating Nigeria and South Africa to the award organised by CAF and sponsored by AITEO Group.

The annual CAF Awards entered its 26th edition this year and the Awards Gala took place in the Ghanaian capital, Accra.

African champions, Wydad Athletic Club of Morocco deservingly went home with the Club of the Year award.

Kgatlana took consolation in Banyana Banyana being named Women’s National Team of the Year.

In other categories, Patson Daka ensured Zambia was represented on the podium with the Youth Player of the Year, ten years after compatriot Clifford Mulenga was decorated Most Promising Talent of the Year.

There were two Platinum Awards, one to Ghana President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and global football icon, George Weah, now President-elect of Liberia.
