Sad one for the defending champions as Cameroon striker Diederick Joel Tagueu has been ruled out their opening match in the ongoing 2019 Africa Cup of Nations tournament due to a heart problem

The Indomitable Lions defending start their 32nd edition against Guinea Bissau, and the 25-year-old Marítimo star was initially in contention for a starting spot in the Group F opener at the Ismailia Stadium.

Tagueu is making his Africa Cup of Nations debut in Egypt but Nkongsamba-born dream in playing for the continent most glamorous tournament has come to an early end.

However, The Cameroon Football Federation are expected to write to CAF so as to replace the forward with another player as Clarence Seedorf side preparing will take on Guinea-Bissau before tournament favourites Ghana and Benin.

Tagueu netted 10 goals in 33 outings for his Portugues side and was expected to lead the Indomitable Lions' frontline in Egypt.
