CAR 0-2 MAN CITY: Cityzens advanced to the next round

Manchester City recorded a 2-0 win over Cardiff City in the FA Cup at the Cardif City Stadium in Wales, first half goals from Kevin de Bruyne and Raheem Sterling ensured the Etihad outfit advanced to the next round of the touranament.

Manchester City pushed up to the opponent’s half in the early minute as they tried to get an early goal, but the resulting attempt was roughly blocked as Cardiff City defender clashed with Ilkay Gundogan in the early minutes of the game that resulted to a free kick in the area.

Kevin de Bruyne made no error to convert the freekick in the 8th minute as the Belgian midfielder played a low ball to put the away side ahead.

Cardiff City was denied an attempt on goal in the 15th minute by a brilliant save from Manchester City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo.

City looked shaky at the defence line and was fortunate not to have conceded from a Cardiff city’s cross in the 18th minute.

The Etihad outfit had much of the ball possession in the opponent area and looked comfortable after taken the early lead.

Bernardo Silva beautiful screamer in the 25th minute was wrongly disallowed after the linesman raised his flag for the centre referee ruled it to be offside.

Raheem Sterling doubled the lead after a beautiful cross from Bernardo Silva to in the 37th minute.

Manchester City built up a swift counter-attack in the 42nd minute but the final delivery was poor as Sterling was unable to make the needed contact.

Leroy Sane went solo from a deep area to the edge of the Cardiff box but Cardiff defender Joseph Bennett in the 45th minute.

The first half ended in favour of Pep Guardiola’ s as the Etihad out had a comfortable first 45 minutes under their control.

The second half started with a swift play from Manchester City, Guardiola made his first substitute with Leroy Sane making way for Sergio Aguero in the 46th minute.

Sterling was released with a fast counterattack in the 53rd minute after beating the goalkeeper he was unable to go get past the returning defender.

The Etihad outfit dominated the game in the second half with a silky passing game in the second half with 61 minutes gone.

Kenneth Zohore almost got a for the host after a brilliant build-up but his attempt was saved by Bravo, Cardiff City might a threat in the 68th minute but their effort went wide the target.

Manchester City was on point when Aguero nutmegged a Cardiff defender to cross the ball into the area but a defender blocked his brilliant cross into the box in the 69th minute.

Sterling almost got the third goal for Manchester City but the England international failed to score the goal.
