Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal has given an update on his injury after missing the return leg of the Champions League semi-final clash against Bayern Munich and the El-Clasico showdown against Barcelona.

Carvajal is racing to fit for the Champions League final match against Liverpool in Kiev and he aims to take things slowly.

"I have already started to play with the ball and I feel fantastic," he told an audience at Francisco de Vitoria University.

"I have been without pain for days and I have my mind set on Kiev.

"I won't take even the smallest risk."

Liverpool is Real Madrid's opponents in Ukraine and Carvajal insisted that the Reds are far more than just Mohamed Salah.

Zidane: Ronaldo will be fit for Champions League final

"No team reaches a Champions League final with only one player,"

"They have done very well and their path has not been easy, they are there on their own merits and it will be a very exciting final."

The trip to Kiev gives Madrid a chance at a third straight Champions League title, totalling 13 for the club as a whole following a great period that Carvajal is delighted to be a part of.

"It is clear that this is a wonderful cycle for us," said the Spaniard.

"It isn't easy to reach the final of the Champions League and it is clear that the club has been managed very well.

"We have had fantastic squads and we are on a winning team, hopefully claiming the 13th."
