After finally finding their groove against AC Milan in a midweek Europa League fixture in Italy, Alex Iwobi and his Arsenal team-mates put to bed a two-game home defeat to beat Watford 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday for Petr Cech's 200th Premier League clean sheet.

Arsenal led at halftime thanks to Shkodran Mustafi who slipped his marker to head home an early opener off a whipped in free-kick from the far side into the danger area by Mesut Ozil. Arsenal became the second team to score 1000 home Premier League goals, after Manchester United (1066).

Against the run of play, Arsenal extended their lead when Henrikh Mkhitaryan found space in the middle of the park to put a through-ball to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who rounded the keeper for his third Arsenal goal, 14 minutes into the second period.

Seconds Aubameyang's goal, Watford were awarded a penalty after Ainsley Maitland-Niles brought down Roberto Pereyra inside the area. Troy Deeney stepped up to convert from the spot but made a bit of a hash of it, sending it only just to Cech's right at a comfortable stretch. Cech's stop was his first penalty save in the Premier League since February 2011 while playing for Chelsea against Fulham.

Aubameyang then set up Mkhitaryan for his first league goal in Arsenal colours after the penalty scare. A ball into the area was parried to Aubameyang who squared to his old Dortmund team-mate to finish.

Three points for Arsenal consolidates their 6th position in the table while Watford have dropped one place into 10th spot.

Arsenal made three changes to the side that lost 2-1 to Brighton last week, bringing in Maitland-Niles, Elneny and Holding into the side.

Laurent Koscielny, Jack Wilshere and Calum Chambers dropped out, whilst there were six changes from the side that beat AC Milan at the San Siro on Thursday. The absence of Koscielny and Aaron Ramsey according to Wenger was precautionary.

After beating West Brom last weekend, Watford made just a single change to their starting line-up. Femenia came into the side for Carrillo, who dropped to the bench. Deeney, after his comments made earlier this season about the Gunners, led the line in a set-up that mirrored Arsenal's style.
