Coach Imama Amapakabo has named Akwa United striker Mfon Udoh and Nigeria international Ikechukwu Ezenwa plus 18 others for Sunday’s African Nations Championship (Chan) qualifying match against Togo in Lome.

The Chan competition is strictly for players plying their trade in their country’s domestic leagues and 16 of the 20 players selected by Amapakabo are from the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) with the four others from the lower divisions.

Super Eagles stopper Ezenwa leads the list with Udoh returning to the team after missing the last tournament in Morroco due to injury, while there is no space for Kano Pillars legend Rabiu Alli but Ndifreke Effiong who netted two of the five goals that condemned Sudan to the scrap heap in the final round of the U23 AFCON qualifying series.

The Nigeria B team who were beaten finalist at the last Chan tournament in Morocco will depart Abuja on Friday to Lome, where they face the Sparrow Hawks at the Stade de Kegue as from 4 pm on Sunday.
