CHE 2-2 BUR: Burnley hold Chelsea to a draw at Stamford

Chelsea was held to a 2-2 draw at the Stamford Bridge in their Premier League game on Monday evening.

Gonzalo Higuain almost scores the first goal for Chelsea but his effort was cleared off the line, it was Jeff Hendrick that broke the deadlock in the 8th minute after he played along range shot to beat Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Eden Hazard fine display to pick out N'Golo Kante ensured Chelsea equalised in the 12th minute to make it 1-1. in the 13th minute Higuain announced himself with a powerful shot to make it 2-1 in favour of the Blues.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek curled shot almost dropped into the net but it was narrowly off the mark. Burnley got the second goal after the Chelsea defence was caught open to allow Barnes Ashley to score from a close range.

Callum Hudson-Odoi sustained an injury and was replaced by Pedro with five minutes left in the first half.

The first half ended in a 2-2 draw.

Mateo Kovacic was thrown in to replace Kante in the opening minute of the second half. Chelsea had more ball possession in the second half but they were unable to penetrate the defence of the visiting team.

Burnley was defensive in the second half, Chelsea substituted Higuain in the 76th for Olivier Giroud.

The game ended in a 2-2 draw as Chelsea was unable to unlock the defence of the visiting team in the second half to get the winning goal.
