Nigeria internationals, Victor Moses and Alex Iwobi were in the thick of the action on Wednesday night as Chelsea and Arsenal played out a barren draw in the first leg of their semi-final Carabao Cup game.
Unlike, the last game at the Emirates which was a thrilling encounter, Wednesday's Cup game was less inspiring especially the first half which was quite a drab affair.
What looked like the first of the came did not come until the 22nd minute when Wilshere lifts his pass over the defence
and suddenly Lacazette finds himself through on goal.
The striker opted to go for it first time on the bouncing ball, but he sliced it horribly off target when he should have done better.
That was like a wake-up call for Chelsea as the Blues responded almost immediately as Moses cuts inside Maitland-Niles far too easily before drilling a low effort towards the near post from a tight angle.
Ospina made the save but spills the ball, only to recover in time to gather at the second attempt before Fabregas could pounce.
There was little or no more of action in the first half but the second half was more energetic especially in the dying stages but it was nothing compared to the end-to-end action at the Emirates a fortnight ago.
Hopefully, that sort of display will be reenacted in the second leg next week.
