Chelsea board is set to choose between coach Antonio Conte and Eden Hazard, according to report in the Telegraph.

The report also said the relationship between Hazard and Conte has been strained this season.

The playmaker has refused to extend his stay with the Premier League outfit and on the other side the club is weighing up their options to sign Luis Enrique or Maurizio Sarri and Conte has refused to quit the Stamford Bridge outfit.

If the Chelsea board sack him the Italian tactician will pocket a sum of £9m, but Chelsea will be happy to pay such a fee if they can convince Hazard to sign a new deal that will see him earn a £300,000-a-week deal.

The Belgian attacker wants a move to Real Madrid but the European Champions are yet to make a move for the former Lille midfielder as they are keen on signing Paris Saint-Germain attacker Neymar.

Abramovich is aware that a move for a more attack-minded coach, such as Sarri or Enrique, would boost his bid to convince Hazard that his long-term future remains at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea is yet to make their final decision on the key issue may be to pay Conte off and bring in a new coach and convince Hazard to stay or let Hazard leave and the Italian tactician remain for one more season.
