Chelsea coach Lampard axe 8 players from pre-season tour

Chelsea new coach Frank Lampard have axed eight players after first after first friendly friendly against local side Bohemians in Dublin.

The 41-year-old th Blues legend arrived back at Stamford Bridge to replace Maurizio Sarri after just one year in senior management, having led Derby to the Championship play-off final.

The Cobham-bound from Ireland are Lewis Baker, Izzy Brown, Lucas Piazon, Trevoh Chalobah, Dujon Sterling, Ike Ugbo, Conor Gallagher and Marc Guehi.

Lampard is preparing for the new season as it kicked off its pre-season campaign against Irish side Bohemians and all the eight players featured in the friendly as the Blues settled for a 1-1 draw.

Former England international slammed his side’s fitness, with six of the eight players were out on loan last seaso but the decision suggests the players returning to Surrey will either be loaned out or sold this summer.
