Chelsea could bring back former manager for the third at the Stamford Bridge if they decide to sack current Chelsea boss Antonio Conte before the end of the season.

Guss Hiddink has been mooted for the replacement of Conte following the current poor performance of the team.

Hiddink has been in charge of the Stamford Bridge outfit on two occasions in his career, in 2008/09 season when he replaced Luiz Felipe Scolari for the second half of the season.

The Dutch tactician made a return to the Stamford Bridge six years later in 2015/16 season when he was called upon to retire Jose Mourinho before Conte took over in the summer.

Barcelona coach Luis Enrique is being linked with the Conte’s job and he is seen as a long-term replacement for the Italian tactician, according to Telegraph.

If the Stamford Bridge hierarchy is unable to hold on to Conte, the Telegraph suggests Hiddink could still find himself back at the Bridge for a third spell this season.

Chelsea has hired both Jose Mourinho and Hiddink on two occasions and has brought in many managers under the ownership of Roman Abramovich.

Conte might not escape the hammer if he suffered a humiliation in the Champions League against Barcelona and he might stay to the end of the season if he manages to defeat Barcelona or qualify to the next round of the competition at the expense of the Camp Nou outfit.
