Chelsea are desperate to offload one of the club’s top earners Cesc Fabregas as soon as in January, The Times reports.
The Spaniard has been frozen out by Antonio Conte in the Blues line-up in preference of Nemanja Matic and N’Golo Kante in a very successful 3-4-3 formation that has seen them go four consecutive matches in the premier league unbeaten.
Since, the Italian’s appointment as manager in the summer he has only played Fabregas once from the start. The club’s hierarchy are ready to offload the player if he is not in the manager’s plans as he is one of the highest earners at Stamford Bridge.
AC Milan were reportedly to take the former Barcelona and Arsenal star on a season long loan in the summer but the move broke down due to Chelsea’s unwillingness at the time to pay some of his wages.
However, the Blues have now changed their stance as they are desperate to get Fabregas off their books but the biggest obstacle now is that the player himself is not keen on a move as he wants to fight for his place at the London.
Chelsea are currently fourth on the premier league log with 22 points after their 2-0 away win against Southampton at the weekend.
