Chelsea is in the race to sign Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandoski, according to report.

The Mirror reveals that Chelsea has made contact with Lewandowski's agent knowing that the German Champions are planning a major overhaul of their squad in the summer.

Lewandowski, 31, will fancy a move to Premier League and it would take a fee in the region of £70 million to tempt Bayern into selling a player who never fails to deliver in front of goal.

The Polish forward moved to Bayern Munich five years ago and in 152 games he scored 125 goals for the Allianz Arena outfit.

Jurgen Klopp is also interested in signing the striker for Liverpool, he managed during his stint with Borussia Dortmund if he is available for sale.

Chelsea has been banned from making signings in the next two windows, but the Blues directors have launched an appeal and they are hoping FIFA listens to their appeal to lift the ban.
