Chelsea is set to make a final push for AS Roma striker Edin Dzeko and Emerson Palmieri before the end of the transfer January market, according to reports.

Chelsea is keen on landing a Centre forward and host of strikers has been linked with the Premier League Champions.

The former Manchester City is one of Chelsea’s targets but a huge wage demand is preventing both sides to reach an agreement.

Chelsea's signing of Dzeko delayed!

A report in Italy in the Transfermarketweb says Chelsea is planning to make the last move for him as the Stamford Bridge outfit move to conclude the deal before the close of the winter window.

The Bosnian was due to undergo a medical with the Stanford Bridge outfit last week but it didn’t happen as they could reach an agreement on personal terms.

The 31-year-old Bosnian will end up staying put in Rome this month if today’s discussions are not successful.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte refused to comment on the speculation surrounding Dzeko following the  3-0 FA Cup win over Newcastle at the Stamford Bridge.

When asked for about the potential deal, Conte said: “No news on Dzeko. I don’t like to talk about the transfer market.”

And when pressed further, Conte added: “I don’t need anything. I’m a coach and I continue to work with the players I have. They are great players.”

Chelsea has already signed Ross Barkley from Everton this month after the England international completed a £15m from Everton.

Chelsea will be up against Bournemouth in their next Premier League game at the Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.
