Chelsea rejected a huge offer from Real Madrid for Eden Hazard despite the Belgian attacker willingness to join the European heavyweight in the summer.

Hazard has emerged as a top target for Real Madrid following the exit of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus during the summer transfer.

The Portuguese attacker quit Bernabeu after spending nine years after his move from Manchester United in 2009.

Since the sale of the prolific attacker to Serie A, Real Madrid has lacked the firepower in the attack and the likes of Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Marco Asensio has failed to score in their last four games.

Real Madrid is aiming to sign the Belgian attacker in January to solve the goalscoring crisis.

Hazard is enjoying a free role under Maurizio Sarri and he has scored eight goals in 10 appearances since the start of the season.

Real Madrid has seen €170 million rejected by the Stamford Bridge hierarchy.

And a move to Real Madrid could yet happen with the winger admitting to doubts over his Chelsea future.
