Chelsea has made a move to sign £50m rated Premier League defender Lewis Dunk from Brighton and Hove Albion, as they move to solve their defense fatality.

Dunk has been in scintillating form since for Brighton this season and he could take his career to another height if he signs for Premier League giants Chelsea.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard wants to add some reinforcement to the team to be able to compete with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City.

Chelsea has enquired about the availability of the center back as per the Times and Brighton is prepared to let go of their skipper if Chelsea meet the £50m valuation placed on him.

Dunk, 28, is a reliable defender and of course, a better upgrade of Kurt Zouma and Andreas Christensen, Chelsea's alternative to the deal is Bournemouth Nathan Ake who is a former Chelsea player, though the moves are still in the preliminary stage.
