Chelsea is set to outbid Manchester City in the race to sign Napoli star Jorginho, according to report in Metro.
Manchester City has been hoping on the deal to sign the Italian-Brazilian midfielder before the commencement of the World Cup but was unable to wrap up the deal.
Jorginho is expected to leave the Stadio San Paolo this summer and he is exempted from his side’s pre-season training camp.
Manchester City has refused to meet the Napoli’s valuation of £48m for the midfielder with Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis not ready to lower his asking price despite signing Fabian Ruiz from Real Betis as his replacement.

Chelsea is also stocked with the Serie A side in the attempt to sign Maurizio Sarri as the compensation between the two clubs is yet to be agreed on.
Reports in Sportitalia claims that Chelsea is interested in signing Jorginho and the Blues are willing to offer £53m for the 26-year-old.
The report also claimed that an improved offer would also encourage Napoli to release Sarri who has also been a target for Chelsea.
