Chelsea set to sign a striker from Italy this month - FCNaija

Chelsea is set to sign a striker from Italy this month as the Premier League Champions are in talks with Roma forward Edin Dzeko, according to Mediaset Premium.

Manager Antonio Conte wants to strengthen his attack and sign a new striker in a bid to provide competition for Alvaro Morata.

Morata has failed to goal a goal in his last couple of games and Conte is beginning to lose his patient for lack of goals from the Spanish international.

Chelsea set sight on Roma left back to replace Marcos Alonso 

The Premier League Champions have held talks with West Ham for a potential move for striker Andy Carroll, who is valued at £20.

Apart from Edin Dzeko Chelsea are also in a bid to sign Roma left-back Emerson Palmieri, Roma is open to a deal for the Brazilian defender but the capital-based club is unwilling to allow Dzeko to leave as they would be without a leading striker for the remainder of the campaign.

Dzeko is Serie A top scorer last season after he scored 29 goals last season and in this season he has scored 12 goals in 26 appearances.
