Brazil defeated Argentina 2-0 to advance to the Copa America finals with a 2-0 win over their main rivals in Belo Horizonte thanks to goals from Gabriel Jesus and Roberto Firmino on Wednesday morning.

It did not take too long for Gabriel Jesus, to introduce himself as he broke the deadlock in the 19th minute of the match following a brilliant low cross from Firmino to the unmarked Manchester City forward.

The two combined again on the counter-attack after 71 minutes to make it 2-0 after good work from Jesus left Firmino with the simplest of tap-ins.

Sergio Aguero was unlucky not to score for the Albiceleste as his effort was crashed against the crossbar and Lionel Messi was also denied by the woodwork in the 34th minute of the game.

Brazil will now head to the Maracana stadium in Rio de Janeiro for Sunday’s final against either Peru or reigning champions Chile.
