Copa del Rey: Messi, Iniesta & Suarez out, Dembele returns

Barcelona departed for Celta Vigo to begin their 2018 fixture list on Thursday in the Copa del Rey without Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Andres Iniesta while Ousmane Dembele made the final cut in the 18-man squad.

108 days after going down injured at Getafe and a day after being declared fully recovered, Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde included the French striker in his side that traveled to Vigo.

Paco Alcacer and Samuel Umtiti both miss out through injury, while Arda Turan, Iniesta, Suárez, Messi, Rafinha and Gerard Deulofeu were left behind in Barcelona.

The team flew to Galicia on Thursday and trained for the last time before the game early on Wednesday evening, where the first team players were joined by the two aforesaid reserve team players, plus goalkeeper Jokin Ezkieta.

Ter Stegen, Cillessen, Semedo, Piqué, Rakitic, Sergio, Denis Suárez, Mascherano, Paulinho, Jordi Alba, Digne, Sergi Roberto, André Gomes, Aleix Vidal and Vermaelen, while there is also room for Carles Aleñá (26) and Jose Arnaiz (37) of Barça B.
